Smithy works by first responding to a few slash commands within a channel, such as /thread on and /thread new. They are your entry-point.

Tip: type /thread help if you're stuck or can't remember how to get started.

You will also be able to ask Smithy for help and adjust various settings by chatting with Smithy directly in a Direct Message. Smithy may also send you occasional important notifications related to your account in a Direct Message.
