First, Smithy is all about keeping your conversations on topic by always requiring threads in channels that you choose.

Smithy creates new threads on a user's behalf (just like they themselves created them, not a bot) and cleans up unthreaded messages automatically.

We use two scopes for this: channels:history and chat:write.
